Summer Scholars 2012 will ONLY be available for students who are served under Title I or LAP programs at the following elementary schools: Ardmore, Phantom Lake, Sherwood Forest, Stevenson, Woodridge & Lake Hills.

Current K-5 Grades

This year's Elementary Summer Scholar Program has been designed to incorporate Guided Language Acquisition and Design Strategies into daily instruction; offer students rigorous thematic literacy instruction developed around experiential learning; and ensure attending students do not experience a "summer slide" in their math and reading skills.

General Information

  • A 5 hour day, 5 week program.
  • Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
  • Classes will be provided at no cost for families.
  • Class size average will be 22 students.
  • Teachers will be highly qualified and experienced.
  • At the end of the 5 week program students will receive a certificate of completion.
  • Breakfast and lunch services will be provided for all students at no cost.
  • Students with disabilities are welcome to register and will be provided necessary general education accommodations consistent with their Section 504 Plans or IEPs.
  • Transportation will be provided at no cost.

After Summer School Program:
"Slide into Summer Fun"

Elementary Summer Scholars and "Slide Into Summer Fun" Combo at Lake Hills Elementary! When school ends at 1:00pm, children enrolled in Elementary Summer School Scholars can "slide" right over to the summer fun program.

Children must attend Summer Scholars to enroll in the "Slide Into Summer Fun" program located at Lake Hills. For more information regarding the Combo, visit the Summer Fun Programs or call the Early Learning Programs Office at 425-456-4030.

Incoming Kindergarten ELL

July 9 - August 10 at Lake Hills Elementary School

The Incoming Kindergarten ELL summer school program will prepare new to English students for Kindergarten using language and literacy.

  • This summer program is provided at no cost to families.
  • Transportation provided, at no cost, by the district.
  • Breakfast and lunch services are provided for all students at no cost.
  • Students with disabilities are welcome to register and will be provided necessary general education accommodations consistent with their Section 504 Plans or IEPs.
  • Classes will be held 8:00am - 1:00pm Monday - Friday

Registration Procedure

  • Incoming Kindergartners that test at the beginning level of English language proficiency will register at the time of testing.

  • The ELL office will inform families of final summer school placement.

  1. Summer Scholar Registration forms are available at your school from your Office Manager.

  2. Registration forms must include principal and parent signatures.

  3. Completed registration materials should be returned to your school Office Manager, or sent to:
