All About Woodridge Library....

Instructional Goals of Woodridge Elementary Library:

• To ensure that each child acquires the information literacy skills necessary to become a self-reliant, lifelong learner
• To provide a rich literature-related program which will play a vital part in the development of lifelong relationships with libraries, books and reading.

 

To accomplish these goals at Woodridge Library:

there is a full time librarian 

there are over 14,000 books, CDs, and videos

there 20 computers and 2 Smartboards

there are magazine subscriptions for all ages

there are four Library Catalog stations to find books

there is a great collection of up-to-date research resources in a variety of formats

The children see the librarian each week for a scheduled visit and there are times teachers can sign up for research

there is teacher/librarian collaboration on research projects.

the library is open to students before and after school and at recesses

there are over twenty parent library volunteers

there are over 20 student library helpers
