Gifted High School at Interlake

To meet these students’ special needs BSD has developed a new gifted high school program that provides:

Gifted Core Classes with Intergrated Instruction (FAQ #4)
Internships, independent study, research projects, and other opportunities to foster individual talents and interests
Challenge and creativity in core classes while leaving time for normal teenage sports, clubs and extra-curricular activities
A highly effective college preparatory program recognized by admissions officers at selective colleges and universities, designated on the high school transcript (FAQ #2)
The flexibility to meet the broad spectrum of interests expressed by this diverse and talented group

Current PRISM students will be automatically accepted into the Gifted High School Program at Interlake as they register. Other students, including those from other school districts, can apply by taking an eligibility test.

Students not in the PRISM Program should apply to take the eligibility test, following the same process required for the district 1-8 Gifted program . Students may apply for testing for the High School Gifted Program by submitting the HS Gifted Application for Testing Form to the Gifted office. A Cognitive Abilities test and Reading test will be given on Saturday morning, January 9, 2010 at Highland Middle School, from 8:15 am - 12:45.
