Gifted Advisory Committee

The Gifted Advisory Committee (GAC) is comprised of parents, BSD staff, and BSD administrators who represent the various interests of the gifted program. Its goal is to support the program, through reviews, identifying and (where possible) fulfilling needs, and offering administrators their recommendations for changes and improvements that are beyond the scope of the committee's abilities.

Each board member leads projects and tasks undertaken in the area they represent.  They draw from the ranks of BSD Gifted Program administrators and staff and parents to create teams that can address the program's needs.  Where responsibilities overlap, board members work together to achieve joint goals.  Questions/comments related to any of the specific areas covered should be made to the board member who represents that position, and can be directed to that person through bellevue.gifted@gmail.com.

Who do you contact when you have a question or concern about some aspect of the gifted program? The answer is the same whether your student is in the gifted program or a mainstream classroom.

If the question is specific to a class, your first contact should be the teacher of that class. E-mail is the preferred way to contact Bellevue School District teachers. The protocol for addresses is last name followed by first initial (as one word) @bsd405.org. If e-mail is not an option for you, or to make sure the teacher received your e-mail, send a note via your child or ask the school’s secretary to place one in the teacher’s box.

If your question is more general to the school, or if the teacher is unable to help you, your next contact should be the school principal.
