Board votes on recommended closure

On June 1, 2010 the Bellevue School Board voted 4-1 in favor of closing Robinswood Middle and High School.  For the coming school year, the Board requested a monthly progress report on every Robinswood student, and regular updates on the progress being made toward designing a new school.

Robinswood Middle School Assessments :

The federal No Child Left Behind Act requires that students be assessed each year in reading and math, grades 3 through 8, plus once in high school. In Washington State, we test each spring with the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning).

WASL tests are intended to assess whether students have sufficiently mastered a set of grade-level standards for a particular subject. In other words, “How many students have learned what they need to know – and can demonstrate that learning?” Some test questions are multiple-choice, but most require students to explain their answers and ask for short or extended responses. WASL scores are reported in 4 levels: “Exceeds Standard,” “Meets Standard,” “Below Standard,” and “Well Below Standard.”
