Congratulations to the Newport, Interlake and Tillicum marching bands for their recognition at the annual Issaquah Salmon Days Parade Oct. 7.

NewpoTillicum MS Band at Salmon Days Paradert’s Marching Band, directed by Cory Edwards and Todd Mahaffey, won 1st Place for High School Bands.

Interlake’s Marching Band, directed by Paul Gillespie and David Kim, placed 3rd Place for High School Bands and was awarded 1st Place for High School Drill.

Tillicum’s Marching Band, directed by Gwyn Barkman, took 1st Place for Middle School Bands.

Sammamish’s Marching Band, directed by Chandra Rampersad, also had the honor of marching in the parade.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
