Congratulations to the International School’s Titans Robotics team (#492) and to Newport High School’s NRG team (#948) which both qualified for the FIRST FRC World Championships!

Both high school teams clinched their qualification at the Pacific Northwest District Championships April 5-8 in Cheney, Wash.  International and Newport finished in the top 20 of 155 teams and will represent the PNW District at the FIRST FRC World Championships April 20-22 in Houston, Texas.

These teams focus on increasing involvement in science, technology, math, engineering and business through building robots and participating in the annual FIRST Robotics competitions. They had six weeks to build a 120 pound robot that could deliver gears, make baskets with balls, and climb a rope in a 2 minute 15 second match. Both teams’ trips to the World Championship were made possible in part by support from the Bellevue Schools Foundation.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
