Congratulations to 10 Bellevue schools that were honored by the state as Washington Achievement Award Winners this year!

The Washington Achievement Awards are the state’s highest honor, recognizing student achievement and growth over three years.

“The Achievement Awards recognize schools and educators making a difference in student outcomes,” State Board of Education Chair Isabel Muñoz-Colón said in a press release. “Award recipients are schools that have made measurable progress helping students prepare for college, career, and life.”

Bellevue schools recognized this year were:

  • Bennett Elementary: Overall Excellence & English Language Acquisition
  • Cherry Crest Elementary: Overall Excellence & Math Growth
  • Clyde Hill Elementary: Overall Excellence & English Language Acquisition
  • Medina Elementary: Overall Excellence & English Language Arts Growth
  • Odle Middle School: High Progress
  • Phantom Lake Elementary: High Progress
  • Spiritridge Elementary: Overall Excellence & English Language Arts Growth
  • Stevenson Elementary: High Progress
  • Tyee Middle School: English Language Acquisition
  • Woodridge Elementary: High Progress

An award ceremony honoring 2015 winners will be held by the state at Union Gap School on May 10, 2016.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
